What Is Chiropractic ?

Chiropractic medicine is a system of primary portal access health care concerned with the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disorders of the neuro-musculoskeletal and locomotor systems (particularly the spine) and the effects of these disorders on general health.

As such, the Dubai Health Authority & DHCC acknowledge chiropractic practitioners as “Doctors” in their field.

The importance of the relationship between “structure and function” is central to the chiropractic approach of addressing, restoring and preserving your health.

In particular, a chiropractic doctor recognises the vital role of body mechanics and how fixation or distortion in the spine and musculoskeletal locomotor system, can affect the body’s function, as coordinated by the nervous system.

The Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.) education provides the necessary clinical acumen in differential diagnosis of a presenting condition to rule out serious pathology or conditions such as infection, fracture, cancer, inflammatory joint disease. What To Expect ?

When visiting a chiropractor in the UAE you should expect:
A history of complaint, physical examination ,(and where appropriate) the ordering of any investigative imaging and laboratory examinations for diagnostic purposes, including, but not limited to, clinical laboratory tests, and physiological functional tests.

If you are an appropriate candidate for chiropractic treatment, you will be advised for treatment with the focus on conservatively addressing the neurological, skeletal, or soft tissue dysfunction by making specific adjustments and manipulations of the articular joints and soft tissues structures, such as muscle, ligaments and fascia. If chiropractic treatment is not appropriate, the patient should be advised as to where to seek proper care.
